There are a couple of reasons why you may find that one journey has been split up into multiple trips on your Trip History report.
1. Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) Detections
The Companion+ Mobile Safety app has in-built AI, powered by Sfara.
This A.I. is looking for continuous speeding. If there’s a lull in speed, then 'Car Mode' could be disengaged, then re-engaged when continuous speeding is detected again.
For example, if you are stuck in prolonged stop-start traffic, your journey may be broken up into multiple trips as the AI determined one trip ended while you were stationary, and then started a new trip when you moved off again.
2. Loss of GPS
Another reason one trip could be broken up into multiple trips is a loss in your GPS signal.
For example, going through a tunnel, in a parking garage etc.
Having it display as multiple trips instead of one does not impact your driver profile in any way.
